Even as a little boy, standing on a stool in his family’s kitchen Marcus understood that food keeps family’s together and defines whole communities and society.
“The celebration of food, defines us as a people”.
His first cooking lessons were with the famous Chicago Chefs, Antoinette and Francois Pope. This classic combination of Italian and French style cooking has influenced him throughout his life. Continuing to cook and entertain, Marcus had a successful career in business, and manufacturing.
Marcus first visited the Bitterroot Valley in 1970 during a camping trip after College. The beautiful Mountains surrounding the valley and the friendly people so appealed to Marcus, he moved his family the Bitterroot Valley in the mid 90’s.
Always an entrepreneur, Marcus and his Wife bought a building in Stevensville and started several small businesses including ‘The Catered Table’. Originally, a catering service they expanded their dream to run a restaurant when their building became vacant between tenants.
Hoping to bring his community closer with the new Catered Table, Marcus is creating a welcoming relaxed environment, with his up-scale food creations. ‘Casual Fine Dinning’ is the theme. Featuring, Seafood, Steaks, Pasta, homemade Desserts, micro brewed beers and an international selection of wine.
“I can’t do this without my wife, who is my best friend and loving partner. Even though she has never had a formal cooking lesson, her passion for cooking makes her my equal in the kitchen”, Marcus says. “I have a plaque on the wall of my kitchen that reads: The preparation and serving of food is how I show love to my friends and family”.
